ScreeningIn progress
Screen the person. See who stands behind them.
Screening for sanctions and politically exposed persons is a step in any tenant’s flow today, answered by its providers. Next, Aegis screens against Panoptes, Protoworks’ own investigative graph, where people, companies, designations and public offices are resolved entities with their connections — so a match comes with its evidence, and ownership can be followed to the people at the end of it.
Today
A step like any other, decided like any other.
A tenant places screening in its flows and chooses who answers it. The outcome policy is the platform’s, so a hit is never left to chance.
- Sanctions
- A confirmed sanctions hit declines the run.
- Built
- Politically exposed persons and adverse media
- A hit goes to a reviewer, or declines, by the tenant’s policy.
- Built
- Reviewed by a person
- Every possible match is adjudicated by a reviewer with the provider’s evidence in front of them.
- Built
- Ongoing monitoring
- People already verified are rescreened when the lists change, not only at onboarding.

Panoptes
Planned
Our own graph, not a borrowed list.
Panoptes is Protoworks’ intelligence platform: an investigative graph that resolves records from public and official sources into entities on the FollowTheMoney ontology, the open model investigators and sanctions datasets share. It is being made Aegis’s own screening source.
- Entities, not strings
- A person or company is one resolved entity with its aliases, identifiers and sources, so a common name does not flood the queue.
- Planned
- Sanctions
- Designations matched to the entity they name, with the designation and its source attached.
- Planned
- Politically exposed persons
- Public offices, their holders and their close associates and relatives, as connections in the graph.
- Planned
- Adverse media
- Reporting linked to the entities it concerns, as evidence a reviewer can read rather than a score.
- Planned
- Explained matches
- Each hit carries the identifiers and attributes that matched, and those that did not.

Beneficial ownership
Planned
Ownership, at the scale of a country.
Knowing a business means knowing who ultimately owns and controls it. With companies, officers and their connections held as a graph in Panoptes, ownership becomes a path to follow: through holding companies and nominees to the natural persons at the end — for one business at onboarding, or for every business at once.
- Ownership chains
- Shareholdings and control followed through every layer to the ultimate beneficial owners.
- Planned
- Screened owners
- Every owner and officer screened for sanctions and political exposure, not only the business.
- Planned
- Mass resolution
- Beneficial ownership resolved across a whole register, so shared owners and circular structures show up.
- Planned
Build on identity that is proven, not assumed.
